Outbuilding from Launsbach
Built: 1821
Dismantled: 1979
Reassembled: 1980
The outbuilding’s timber-framed structure rests on a basalt plinth. The bizonal unembellished timber-framed building consists of an open shed on the left and a two-storey section on the right. The shed served as a firewood storage conveniently close to the residential building. In addition, the small annexe provided some space for storing household and farming implements. The pigsty occupied the ground floor of the right-hand section, while the top floor was home to the chicken coop. Unlike at the original location, the open shed houses the museum’s Meißen Ram rabbits, a near-extinct domestic breed. The museum breeds these animals as part of its contribution to the Arc-Park Project.
