General Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions of Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark gGmbH (version: February 2024)
1. Scope of validity
These terms and conditions apply to all bookings (bookable events, conferences, workshops, weddings, guided tours, room bookings, combined offers of room booking plus additional service(s)) organised by Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark gGmbH.
2. Conclusion of contract
(1) The contract for the (room) booking or participation in bookable offers is concluded by the participant’s binding registration/booking and written confirmation from Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark. Registration can take place by telephone or in writing. A confirmation of booking will be sent to the participant by email.
(2) If the event requires a minimum number of participants (workshop, course, conference), the contract shall be concluded on the condition precedent that the minimum number of participants register.
3. Terms of payment
(1) In the case of cash or card payment, the charge for the booked event must be paid at the museum’s ticket office on the day of the visit before the event takes place.
(2) Alternatively, payment shall be made by bank transfer after invoicing. The payment must be remitted after invoicing to the bank account of Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark gGmbH within 10 days of receipt of the invoice or before the start of the booking.
(3) Courses, workshops and conferences must be paid for in advance. If the minimum number of participants is not reached and the course is not held as a result, payments already made will be refunded.
4. Cancellation policy
(1) Cancellations (withdrawal from the contract) must be in writing (email, fax is acceptable) and must be sent to the Freilichtmuseum.
(2) It is possible to cancel a bookable offer (with the exception of room/space and combined bookings (room and/or space and additional services)) free of charge up to eight (8) calendar days before the booking begins.
(3) The cancellation of an event with a minimum number of participants (conference, workshop, course) must take place no later than fourteen (14) calendar days before the day of the event.
(4) If cancellations take place after the above-mentioned times, full payment shall be due.
(5) It is possible to cancel room/space bookings free of charge up to six (6) months before the selected booking begins.
If a room booking is cancelled up to three (3) months before the booking begins, the Freilichtmuseum will charge a cancellation fee of 30% of the room/space rental.
If a room/space booking is cancelled up to one (1) month before the booking begins, the Freilichtmuseum will charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the room/space rental
If cancellations take place after the above-mentioned times, full payment shall be due.
(6) It is possible to cancel additional services for room/space booking (combined offers) free of charge up to three (3) months before the booking begins.
If the additional service is cancelled up to one (1) month before the booking begins, the Freilichtmuseum will charge a cancellation fee of 30% of the contract amount.
5. Changes to bookings
It is possible to change the booking of a bookable offer (with the exception of room/space and combined bookings (room and additional services)) free of charge up to eight (8) calendar days before the booking begins. After the above-mentioned time, full payment shall be due.
From the 2nd change to the offer, a flat processing fee of €50 will be charged. This will be offset against the booking if the order is binding.
6. Late arrivals / No-shows
If the participant or the group is delayed, the participant/group must expect a corresponding reduction in the duration of the event. The entitlement of the Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark gGmbH to payment in full shall remain unaffected.
7. Impediments to services by the Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark gGmbH
If the Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark is unable to provide the agreed service, any fee already paid shall be refunded immediately. Any further claims are excluded. Minor deviations from the booked programme due to force majeure (illness, technical faults) are irrelevant.
8. Museum regulations

9. Right of objection
The booking and thus the General Terms and Conditions shall be valid if the participant does not object within five (5) calendar days of their receipt. In the case of a booking made 14 to 8 calendar days before the booking begins, the five-day (5) right of withdrawal shall be reduced by one day and shall end on the 14th calendar day for events with a minimum number of participants and on the 8th calendar day for all other events.
10. Final provisions
Deviations from the General Terms and Conditions can only be made by written agreement.
