The German Saddleback Pig
The German Saddleback pig was kept free-range and is now endangered. The pig’s generous layer of fat warms in both cold and wet conditions. Thus, since it is well adapted to outdoor systems of management, it is likely to see an upturn in popularity as breeders turn away from more intensive systems of production. Unlike their counterparts in industrial holdings, our breeding pigs are allowed to run with their piglets on pasture, true to their nature, and are nearly twice the age of their counterparts when they are slaughtered.
