Taunus and Taunusklub
The exhibition is currently being redesigned and is therefore closed. The reopening is expected to take place in autumn 2023.
Since 2006, an exhibition on the cultural landscape of the Taunus and the association Taunusklub e. V., which was founded in 1868, is displayed at the house from Anspach, also known as “Haus Jäger”. Members of the association volunteer at the house from Taunus on weekends.
On the ground floor, charts and models illustrate interesting facts from protohistory to Ancient Rome and the Middle Ages up until today: The focus is put on history and landscape as well as the settlement and reclamation of the Taunus as a cultural and economic region. The upper floor features stories and activities of the Taunusklub, founded in 1868 as the very first German hiking club. Its significance for the development of tourism in this region as well as the dedication to social and ecological topics are outlined. Furthermore, interested visitors will be provided with information on hikes, events, and the current member associations.
You can visit this exhibition at the house from Anspach (Rhine-Main ensemble).
