Gardening

In rural areas the garden was essential for supplies of fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs. In the museum’s own gardens, our gardeners go about their daily work in historic costume and are always available to give gardening advice to visitors. Following the seasons of the year, traditional plant varieties are planted, nurtured and harvested using traditional techniques in the museum’s own medicinal, herbal and dyer’s gardens.
